With the correct care and attention your shoes will age well, taking on a greater depth of colour and character that only time can produce. We recommend following our shoe care guidelines regularly. Leather uppers require regular treatment with a good-quality wax polish to protect the leather and give a high shine finish. This should help to prolong the life of the uppers and maintain their appearance. Find out moreProduced in 2012. Last 367 is a Hand Grade Collection last with a soft square toe. Originally developed for the Japanese market, 367 is an updated version of the much celebrated 337. Last No.337 was deemed a forward thinking last of its time, being one of the longer more extreme lasts on offer. Last 367 offers the same, soft square toe but also features a 'clipped' heel or back-part. Technically a superior last, it forms its origins in great company following the successes of its fore-part (from 337) and back-part (from 363).
The history of Demi or Low-Cut boots is difficult to pin down. We believe they can be dated back to the early 1800s as more fashionable item to be worn by the more discerning Gentleman of the time, an early Dandy if you like. Probably of feminine roots from the early days of booties, we also conclude that the rise of Chelsea and Chukka boots and also Side Gusset Casuals, would have had an impact. Crockett & Jones can first date back the making of Low-Cut Chelsea boots to 1910, but the Demi-Boot (proper) is not seen until catalogues from the mid-60s. A Demi-Boot just covers the ankle, but can still be seen below the trouser hems.
High quality ‘bark tanned’, hand-stained leather sole with channelled stitching and a gentleman’s corner to reduce suit trouser snagging! A masterpiece of craftsmanship.
