Alongside new additions to the Main Line and Hand Grade collections, C&J is also celebrating the success of its new ‘The Black Editions’ the first three of which were unveiled this time last year. Inspired by the precision of Japanese menswear, the initial three designs were each lasted in a different black leather, from Scotch Grain to Cavalry Calf, and were all set on Vibram Cleated rubber commando soles. In view of their success, 'The Black Editions' are back with three complementary models.
Pembroke, a traditional full brogue derby to which the Scotch Black Grain brings an 'aggressive' side. Henley 3, a classic 'penny loafer' mounted on Last 375; usually a rather formal look, the oversized soles and the black cavalry transforms it into something altogether more ‘rock n roll’. Finally, the iconic Coniston boot is rendered in Black Rough-Out Suede for an uncompromisingly rugged look.
Three new styles are introduced to our Hand Grade Collection for Autumn Winter: Kempton 3, an 'easy shoe' available in Black Calf leather and Polo Brown Calf Suede. A stunning model, simple, elegant and yet distinctive. Equally distinctive, the Savile 4 single buckle monk shoe joins with its streamlined silhouette joins the collection, available in Black Calf and Dark Brown Antique Calf. Finally, Villiers 4 a derby boot combining comfort and refinement, offered in Beechnut Antique Calf or Black Calf.
Moving on to the Main Collection, where the iconic Chukka boot has reinvented itself on our ‘City’ rubber sole in two Pebble Grain colourways – Tan and Dark Brown. The over-sized cleated rubber sole of the Black Editions makes the headlines: mounted once again on the Chelsea 11 now in Dark Brown Scotch Grain. Also sported on a new style for this season – Ross, a high leg Derby boot in Chocolate Hurricane Hide with an Earth Green Suede collar. Eskdale 2 and Chiltern both in Dark Brown Suede also join the boot collection this season.
Of course, the Main Collection also offers a choice of formal shoes, which gives pride of place to the City Sole, ideally suited to the city's autumnal climate. Adopted this year: the Cavendish tassel loafer in Dark Brown Pebble Grain and Boston in Dark Brown Country Grain. An updated classic, Connaught 2 in Black Calf and Dark Brown Burnished Calf on our new 379 Last. Also on Last 379, the Westgate 2 a full brogue Oxford in Black Calf and Dark Brown Calf Suede.
Finally, the subtle but so trendy contribution to our Shell Cordovan Collection: Harrogate, a double buckle monk shoe in Burgundy Cordovan and mounted on a 'Stormwelt' double sole.
Whether you’re after something quirky or classic, Crockett & Jones’s Autumn/Winter ’19 collection spoils you for choice this season.
