Tomorrow sees yet another proud moment for Crockett & Jones worldwide. A development that outlines the depth and breadth of the Crockett & Jones collection that perfectly matches the broad demographic of our customers today. All are welcome at Crockett & Jones. All. As long as you have a thirst for well-made and beautiful footwear that is!
We passionately believe that customer profiling or pigeonholing, a far more accurate description, is simply a narrow minded approach to retail marketing. We take a product led approach, that goes to prove time and time again; if a product has a great recipe, offers value for money and stays attune to world trends, prospective customers will continue to join the ranks alongside so many faithful Crockett & Jones customers, whom have already taken the leap of ‘Goodyear-welted’ faith.
Please join us in welcoming our 14th store worldwide. 156 Spring Street, SoHo, New York.
The centre of SoHo consists of imposing historic buildings with fine architecture. There are many boutique hotels within SoHo, the most well-known of which is the Mercer Hotel, which attracts a host of celebrities and people from the art and design world. SoHo consists of a number of well-known brands and restaurants giving a relaxed and obviously contemporary atmosphere to the area. In recent years, this rise in retail has raised the profile of the area as a perfect get-away (but not too far away) from the city, for the locals.
Crockett & Jones is excited and proud to open our second store in New York in Lower Manhattan, which will complement our original store (outside of the UK) situated on 55th between Madison and Fifth Avenue. Those who jump straight to visit Kevin and Jonathan in SoHo will note the architectural design was conceptualised to compliment the surrounding area, features include; exposed reclaimed brick walls, contemporary fireplace that only burns locally sourced wood, bespoke furniture and the opening up of a glass roof ceiling that brings in the locale whilst the far end of the store with natural sunlight.
From Kevin Hill, Regional Manager of Crockett & Jones New York: When people think of SoHo, visions of cast iron buildings with the requisite fire escapes line streets paved with sett stones. It’s an area of Manhattan that has been the epicentre of mercantile and dry-goods trades, as well as the textile industry. It’s seen some highs and some lows.
It beckoned artists to take up residence in the spacious lofts abandoned during down times, and inspired them to fight for the passage of 1982’s Loft Law, protecting their quality of life from encroachment. Visitors will still find some world class galleries in the neighbourhood.
Today this vibrant area is home to eclectic boutique shopping and some terrific eateries.
For me personally, I am proud to announce the opening of our SoHo store at 156 Spring Street. We’ve endeavoured to create a comfortable and welcoming shop for our customers, paying homage to the industrial and artistic heritage of the neighbourhood. We invite you to come try our own iconic styles such as the Pembroke or Chelsea 5, perfect for strolling the streets after an easy Sunday brunch. Or our jaunty tassel loafers in Cavendish and Carly while savouring a delicious ‘Cronut’, yes cronut from down the street. Our versatile collection has something in it for everyone.
Both the Men’s and the Women’s collections will be available from our new SoHo store. With a slight lean towards the ‘trendier’, casual offering from Crockett & Jones that can now be found throughout our stores today, we will also be showcasing all of the Crockett & Jones icons that have become household names for so many.
The project has been long in the planning and we are exceptionally pleased with the final results. The store opening is tomorrow, Saturday 26th October 2019. We look forward to seeing you in SoHo!
