With the significant rise of rubber soles over recent years, and the continued success of our Black and Sepia ‘City Soles’, Crockett & Jones have once again joined forces with the Harboro Rubber Co. to create our new Chocolate ‘City Sole’. Today, we have seen production change dramatically with a large percentage of our shoes and boots now sporting rubber soles. As customers step away from a traditional leather sole there has been a steady increase in rubber sole volume and variety.
The sole, which is created using the highest quality rubber compound, has the same familiar studded design and reduced waist as it’s darker coloured counterparts; which have already become trusted and recognised soles to many a C&J customer. With sharp edge trimming our ‘City Sole’ offers the formality of a leather sole, but with the flexibility and practicality of a rubber sole.
Our Spring Summer 2018 Collection brings with it a range of unlined suede shoes and boots, which were the perfect collaboration for the rich chocolate tone of our newest ‘City Sole’. Cranleigh, available in Camel and Snuff Suede, has the perfect mix of an unlined fore-part and the flexibility of a rubber sole making it arguable the most comfortable Chelsea boot ever made by Crockett & Jones.
In keeping with the SS18 on trend colour camel, the Harvard Loafer was an obvious choice to partner with the Chocolate 'City Sole', brightening the spring summer wardrobe for gentleman whiling to invest in summer quality. We also decided to change the sole of Newquay in Snuff Suede, our unlined plain fronted Derby. Previously available with a leather sole, it is now shod in rubber.
