LEATHER & LAST

An Evening with James
James Bond is not only the world’s most famous secret agent, he is also the world’s best dressed. Before 007, the archetypal secret agent was draped in a long coat, eyes hidden beneath a wide-brimmed hat. James Bond changed all that.
Bond’s wardrobe is an integral part of his character, and it is the tuxedo that stands as his most celebrated look.
“The tuxedo is the most iconic of the James Bond wardrobe looks,” says No Time To Die’s costume designer, Suttirat Anne Larlarb, “and the finishing touch to the tuxedo is, of course, the right pair of shoes. A shoe will finish off any look and make it perfect from a visual standpoint.”
When Bond walks into a room he has to be immaculate and sharp, but also subtle. Elegant, yet understated.
Whether setting off in a vintage DB5 or sipping a shaken Martini, make sure that a pair of Crockett & Jones JAMES accompany you throughout your evening.
IN THE FILM…
Working closely with the 007 filmmakers Crockett & Jones supplied two further styles to the production. James Bond wears the timeless HIGHBURY in a number of key scenes during No Time To Die and MOLTON when the story takes Bond to Norway.
“Bond is known for his perfectly elegant comportment in all situations and in No Time To Die, Crockett & Jones’s shoes are very much a part of that equation.” continues Larlarb.
The multi-award-winning costume designer notes that Crockett & Jones’s premiere lasts provided an impeccable platform from which to work.
“What separates a good custom make from a perfect one is a question of having the time to achieve that perfection,” she explains, “and we were steps ahead with Crockett & Jones’s already perfect lasts. They were able to provide for us exactly what we needed and without a hitch.
“Working with Crockett & Jones to achieve the custom shoes we required for No Time To Die was an absolute pleasure from start to finish.”
A plain fronted three eyelet derby shoe, the HIGHBURY is made from the finest calf leather, and features our 'City' rubber sole. A Derby is possibly the most versatile of all shoe styles, bridging the gap between smart and smart-casual wear with ease.
NO TIME TO DIE
From Cuba to London, the HIGHBURY will feature in a number of scenes in No Time To Die. Last 348 has cemented itself into Crockett & Jones’s legacy as the choice of James Bond in Skyfall, Spectre and now No Time To Die. Two British icons united by style and elegance.
A plain fronted Chukka boot made from the robust and age defying rough-out suede, with Dainite rubber soles. It is believed that a Chukka boot has both a sporting and British military heritage dating back over a century.
NO TIME TO DIE
In No Time To Die, James Bond takes his trusted Dainite soles to Norway. The MOLTON is the perfect choice for the winter months in the northern hemisphere.
Suttirat Anne Larlarb, Costume Designer for No Time To Die, specifically requested the MOLTON be supplied in rough-out suede, with a dense, waxed surface that lends itself to robust ‘action-packed’ use.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Inspired by its exclusive collaboration with 007, Crockett & Jones’s brand film begins at Crockett & Jones, 92 Jermyn Street, before the unmistakable rumble of an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is heard. Long-standing 007 partner Aston Martin providing the perfect vehicle for JAMES to take his leave.
The exclusive Beaufort bar, a highlight of The Savoy, is the place to enjoy the perfect Martini. The Beaufort's lighting gave the production team the perfect atmosphere for slow motion ‘walk-bys’, giving a dark yet perfectly lit silhouette of our unadorned wholecut.
The final scene is set in one of Northamptonshire’s stunning stately homes, Holdenby House. A fitting backdrop for the iconic and simply beautiful Aston Martin DB5. The most famous car in the world also makes its return in No Time To Die.
